Why no PFAS & Teflon?

Many milk frothers have a jug with a non-stick coating made of PTFE (Teflon), a PFAS. Not this one: the jug is glass and the base is stainless steel.

Less PFAS in your home. According to the Dutch public health institute RIVM, PFAS can affect the immune system, among other things, and choosing PFAS-free products helps limit their spread.
No coating in the jug. A non-stick coating can wear off; glass and stainless steel can’t.

The jug is 100% glass with a stainless steel base. So your milk never comes into contact with Teflon, non-stick or plastic coatings – and that’s what sets it apart from almost every other milk frother. And because the jug is transparent, you can see exactly when your foam is just the right thickness.

What you can make with it
With five automatic programmes, you effortlessly make any milk drink: creamy cappuccino foam, airy latte macchiato foam, cold foam for iced coffee, and hot milk or hot chocolate. You press one button and the Crystal does the rest. Works just as well with plant-based milk: oat, soya or almond.

The appliance starts on hot thick foam by default and goes into standby after 30 seconds without input.

Temperature
Milk: 65 ± 5 °C. That’s warm enough for your coffee without spoiling the flavour.
Hot chocolate: 75 ± 5 °C.

The times given apply to milk at 5 to 10 °C at a room temperature of 25 °C. Colder milk or a colder kitchen means waiting a little longer.

Materials: glass jug, stainless steel base and silicone ring. CE certified.

Please note: the glass jug, lid and whisk can go in the dishwasher. Never immerse the power base in water. Never use the appliance without milk in the jug.

Daily care is easy:

Tip for the best foam:

Use whole milk (>3% fat) for the best result.

Please note: the appliance can froth cold milk, but it can’t turn frozen milk into cold foam.

These “forever chemicals” are nearly impossible to break down, remain in the environment for a long time, and have been linked to diseases. It’s no surprise that scientists and policymakers are paying increasing attention.

What’s the difference between the Crystal and the Digital?

Both have a glass jug with a stainless-steel base, 600 W, hot and cold foam, and are dishwasher-safe. The difference comes down to four things. The Digital has 7 programs versus 5, with two extras: a setting for plant-based milk and a baby-milk setting at 37 °C. The Digital handles more milk per round: frothing up to 250 ml and heating up to 400 ml, versus 150 and 250 ml on the Crystal. The Crystal is faster: warm thick foam in under 2 minutes; the Digital can take up to 6 minutes at 250 ml. And the Digital has a display, while the Crystal uses buttons.

If you mainly make cappuccino or latte with regular milk for one or two people, go with the Crystal. If you drink oat or soy, make larger batches, or want baby milk at the right temperature, go with the Digital.

Is the jug really PFAS- and Teflon-free?

Yes. The removable pitcher is made of glass, with no non-stick coating. So your milk only touches glass—no Teflon, no PFAS, no coating that wears over time and ends up in your cappuccino. That’s exactly why we chose glass instead of a coated metal pitcher.

What settings does the milk frother have?

The Crystal has 5 programs: warm thick foam, warm thin foam, cold foam, heating, and hot chocolate. The Digital has 7: the same five plus a plant-based milk setting and a 37 °C baby milk setting. One press of the button and the device does the rest.

How many cups can I froth at once?

Count on about 60 ml of milk per cappuccino. The Crystal froths up to 150 ml per cycle, enough for 2 cappuccinos. The Digital froths up to 250 ml, enough for 3 to 4. For heating only, you can do more: 250 ml in the Crystal, 400 ml in the Digital.

Does it also work with oat milk, soy, or almond milk?

Yes. While many frothers with plant-based milk often only make warm milk, Safecourt also creates a rich, stable foam layer with oat, soy, or almond. Tip: barista versions of plant-based milk foam best.

Can I use it to make cold foam and hot chocolate too?

Sure. Besides hot foam, you can also make cold foam for iced coffee or cold foam, and it also has a separate setting for hot chocolate that automatically blends milk and cocoa into a creamy whole.

Can the glass jug go in the dishwasher?

Yes—and that might be the best part. The smooth glass interior hardly lets milk residue stick, so a quick rinse is usually enough, and for a thorough clean you can simply put it in the dishwasher. No baked-on edges, no hand-washing, no hassle.

Is there an on/off button?

No, and you don’t need one either. You select a program with the button and the appliance starts right away. When it’s done, it stops automatically, and after 30 seconds with no action it goes into standby. If you want to turn it off completely, unplug it.

Can I order a separate glass jug?

Yes, for both. The separate glass jug for the Crystal costs €34.95, and the one for the Digital €44.95. Search the shop for 'glass jug'. Handy if the jug ever breaks, or if you want a second jug for plant-based milk.

How long is the cord?

80 cm. Long enough to place it on the countertop next to the power outlet, short enough not to hang over the edge.
